Starting off with the brand new album of Minnesotean Thrashers BFG this album is what you expect from these guys, still having sharp teeth and bite even after 25 years of recording albums. There are a few fillers included, means good quality songs which are not very remarkable nor very interesting to listen to. However, it's maximum 18 minutes out of almost 60 minutes of music, and after being such a long time in the "buisness" it's really not a big deal. BFG never released a complete diarrhoea of an album, they all had it's killer songs and some albums are widely regarded as classics not without a reason.

The musicanship, as usual, is top notch. Also as usual the the album's production is superb for a band of that caliber, thick and clear. Being a little like Motörhead it's not a shift in musical style, still they have added some little details to keep the whole story fresh, like carefully adding violins etc..

Here you have your Thrash/almost Death Metal grenades, the tunes with reminescences of good ol' RAC-times and the standard, but never boring, metallic ballad ("Katyn").

Even if you're not into politics etc. at all, don't get turned off by the lyrics. You would miss a great metal album. BFG never had these trailerpark redneck white trash lyrics so even for a right-winged band they are well written. How was the saying?: Never judge a book by its cover? I never had a problem with BFGS lyrics, sometimes i "sing" along to the ones of my favorite songs of them.
